Situation
After the success of the first version of MIA, its digital ambassador presented at FITUR 2024, World2Meet (W2M), the Iberostar Group’s travel division, faced the challenge of continuing to lead the digital transformation in the tourism sector. The main objective was to advance in the personalization of interactions with clients, optimizing the generation of content and expanding the possibilities of adaptation to different languages.
At the same time, W2M sought to enrich the visual and immersive experience of its digital ambassador at trade fairs and other business environments, consolidating its commitment to technological innovation and reaffirming its leadership in the sector.

Solution
Together with Microsoft and Bravent, W2M developed version 2.0 of MIA, an evolution that integrates cutting-edge technologies such as Avatar Custom, AzureOpenAI and personalized neural voice, combined with its display on a 3D Holobox screen. This new version enabled MIA to interact more naturally and fluidly with users, learning from each interaction and offering personalized recommendations.
The solution also included significant improvements in multilingual content generation, ensuring consistency and naturalness in all linguistic adaptations. In addition, the implementation of Holobox 3D as a visual support added an immersive layer to the experience, allowing MIA to connect with users in a more natural and memorable way.
As in 2024, FITUR was the stage chosen for the launch of this new version, standing out among the innovations presented at the fair for its ability to capture attention and enhance interaction with attendees.

Solution
The presentation of MIA version 2.0 at FITUR 2025 consolidated W2M’s leadership in the application of generative artificial intelligence in the tourism sector. This evolution not only transformed the way in which users interact with technology, but also significantly improved the internal processes of content generation and personalization.
The Holobox integration offered a high-quality immersive experience that stood out among the proposals at the fair, reinforcing the perception of W2M as a pioneer in technological innovation. In addition, the success of MIA 2.0 at FITUR marked the beginning of its expansion to the company’s other business environments, where it will continue to play a key role in improving the customer and employee experience.
In the words of Joan Barceló, CIO of W2M:
“With version 2.0 of MIA, we reaffirm our commitment to innovation and customer service, offering unique and transformative experiences that allow us to continue leading the tourism sector.”
