Enhancing efficiency and safety in medical product validation through AI
The
Challenge

AEMPS aimed to modernize its document validation processes for medical products, ensuring maximum accuracy and safety. While manual regulatory review procedures were in place, they were time-consuming, costly, and prone to human error.

The challenge was to automate the approval of critical documents while maintaining reliability, security, and quality, and improving efficiency for healthcare professionals and administrative staff.

Intelligent system built on Microsoft Azure to streamline document validation
The
Solution

Bravent, as Microsoft’s technology partner, supported AEMPS from the project’s inception, driving adoption of advanced solutions within the Azure ecosystem. The implementation focused on key pillars:

  • Secure automated validation: The system reviews regulatory documents and verifies critical data such as manufacturers, components, and classifications.
  • Advanced AI capabilities: Azure AI Search indexes and searches large volumes of data; Azure OpenAI interprets natural language and generates intelligent responses, improving review and extraction of complex information.
  • Robust and scalable storage: Azure Blob Storage ensures secure storage of regulatory documents while meeting public sector compliance standards.
  • Scalability and continuous improvement: The architecture allows the integration of new functionalities and system expansion without compromising reliability or security.
Greater efficiency, accuracy, and safety in regulatory processes
The
Impact

The intelligent system implemented by Bravent and AEMPS has delivered significant results:

  • Automated validation of critical documents, ensuring maximum reliability and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • 100% sensitivity in detecting incorrect submissions and 94% specificity in identifying valid requests, minimizing false positives.
  • Reduced costs and processing time, optimizing the work of healthcare and administrative staff.
  • Solid, scalable technology foundation capable of integrating new functionalities and continuously improving system efficiency.

“Collaboration with Microsoft is essential to advance the modernization of the regulatory system for medical products and the digital transformation of public administration, establishing a model that guarantees safety, transparency, and high-quality public service. This project demonstrates the value of having technology partners aligned with innovation objectives in the public sector and our mission to protect citizens’ health.” –  AEMPS

“The robustness of Azure provides us with the reliability and flexibility needed to ensure system efficiency and meet the technical and regulatory requirements of the public sector. It also supports project evolution and the addition of new features. Combined with its scalability, efficiency, security, and an advanced ecosystem of AI and data solutions, it constitutes the ideal foundation for the environment in which we operate.” –  AEMPS
