The challenge
Use AI technology to provide Qatar Foundation’s website users with instant answers to their questions – and to show them what Education City has to offer.
The
Situation

Qatar Foundation (QF) is a private, non-profit organization that serves the people of Qatar by supporting and operating programs in the following three core mission areas, Education, Science and Research and Community development.

The QF corporate website (www.qf.org.qa) is their primary digital channel.  As the website constantly evolves to match the growing expectations of their audience, QF were looking to add conversational experiences through chatbots to enhance the user experience.

The objective of the project was to build a chatbot that could evolve from a simple Q&A on the website into a virtual assistant that could be reused beyond the QF corporate website across different platforms.

The Solution
Chabot with Microsoft cognitive services
The
Solution

Bravent created a multi-lingual digital Chatbot using Microsoft Azure Cognitive services, to give visitors a source of static and dynamic content. The Chabot was named BOTaina and has been given the humanized persona and appearance of a Qatari girl.

Using multiple forms of AI-cognitive technology, BOTaina has an inbuilt understanding of natural, conversational language, allowing her to easily interpret what a QF website visitor is looking to find. Her dedication to her role is such that, if she cannot quickly find the answer, she will search the website until she does.

A powerful and interactive reporting suite has been built using Microsoft BI to allow QF to get powerful insights on the needs of their customers and to aid in Botaina’s training.

Qatar Foundation has innovation at its core, and by welcoming BOTaina to her new home on our most popular digital channel, we’re harnessing innovation to inform and engage our audiences and showcase our unique ecosystem to Qatar, the region, and the world in a new way,” Ali Sikandar, Manager of Digital Media, QF.
